The Department of Tourism along with Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) will operate the Golden Chariot train during this year’s Dasara to woo tourists.

The train will be run on alternate days from October 1 to 10 from Yeshwantpur railway station. A KSTDC release said the tour would offer guests a royal treatment. KSTDC claims the Golden Chariot is the only luxury train in South India. The train has 18 thematic coaches, with one coach dedicated as restaurant, a lounge bar, a gymnasium and a spa.

After reaching Mysuru, guests will be taken in luxury buses to Srirangapatna where they will visit Daria Daulat, Tipu’s Fort and many more places. Later in Mysuru, they will be taken to Jaganmohan Palace Art Gallery and later to Lalith Mahal Palace for lunch. They will then be taken to Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion (Folklore museum) and other places in the city.

KSTDC has tied up with Mysore Royal Walks, to give a wholesome experience to explore the heritage city through a curated walk. The guests will be entitled to the Gold pass of the Dasara programme and can witness cultural programmes in front of the illuminated Mysuru Palace.

The release said the Golden Chariot has 44 luxury cabins which can accommodate 88 people. The two nights and one day package is priced at `30,000 per person.
